My Story
Alexander F. Cramm is a neurodivergent author, chef, bartender, and creative entrepreneur who has turned his unique perspective into a distinctive voice in the cocktail and hospitality world. As the founder of AFC & Co and creator of The Neurodivergent Bartender series, Alexander combines craft mixology expertise with authentic neurodivergent storytelling, creating work that resonates with both industry professionals and individuals seeking meaningful representation.
Background
Originally from New Hampshire, Alexander's journey has been anything but linear—and that's exactly what makes his work compelling. In 2019, he founded AFC & Co, initially as a community-focused rideshare service during the COVID-19 pandemic servicing the White Mountains Region of the state. While that chapter closed as public transit reopened, the entrepreneurial spirit and community-first approach remained foundational to everything that followed.
In 2023, Alexander reimagined AFC & Co as a creative platform, launching the Besties, Bikes & Brews Podcast and beginning work on what would become The Neurodivergent Bartender. What started as personal notebooks filled with cocktail recipes and life stories evolved into a groundbreaking book series that fills a gap in both cocktail literature and neurodivergent representation.
The Neurodivergent Bartender
Alexander's flagship work, The Neurodivergent Bartender, is more than a cocktail book—it's a celebration of how neurodivergent thinking shapes creativity, hospitality, and connection. The ADHD Edition represents the first in what will be an ongoing series, each volume offering:
-
Original cocktail recipes developed through years of bartending experience
-
Personal narratives that connect mixology to neurodivergent lived experiences
-
Practical wisdom for both aspiring bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts
-
Authentic representation that proves being neurodivergent isn't a limitation—it's a distinctive creative advantage
His approach is refreshingly honest: "I have some [cocktails] in the notebook on the bar that when sober are absolutely disgusting, but some that are amazing." This commitment to authenticity over perfection resonates throughout his work.
Philosophy & Approach
Alexander's work is guided by a simple but powerful belief: the best creative work happens when you stop trying to fit neurotypical molds and start embracing what makes you different. His cocktails aren't just recipes—they're stories. His books aren't just instructions—they're invitations into a different way of experiencing hospitality and craft.
"This isn't a sequel; this is how I really wanted the book to be," Alexander writes in The Neurodivergent Bartender: ADHD Edition. "A ton of cocktails, stories from my life and even some of my own recipes from my notebooks sprinkled throughout."
This commitment to authenticity, combined with genuine expertise in mixology, has created something truly unique in both the cocktail world and neurodivergent advocacy spaces.
Beyond the Bar
When he's not crafting cocktails or writing, Alexander is actively building community through AFC & Co's various projects and platforms. His work has attracted a growing audience of bartenders, cocktail enthusiasts, neurodivergent individuals, and anyone who appreciates the intersection of craft, creativity, and authentic storytelling.
He continues to develop new volumes in The Neurodivergent Bartender series while exploring additional projects that align with AFC & Co's mission: creating work that serves as a feast for the mind and senses.
